About us
Fence Scenes was founded by Mr. Richard Mattrass when he realized that fence panels are the perfect medium to express art in a landscape.
Mr. Mattrass was granted a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in 1979 from Washington State University.
In the beginning, Fence Scenes designs were based on incorporating quality craftsmanship into traditional residental fences at an affordable price. Using traditional cedar in the panels soon gave way to incorporating bamboo, metal, and other unique materials.
Soon after came the introduction of beautiful custom gates, with many designs “outside of the box”.
Today, Fence Scenes is located in the beautiful Skagit Valley of Washington and provides gate and fence panels throughout the Pacific Northwest and has shipped gates to customers overseas!
